Our last newsletter to you was in August 2024. Where have we been? What has Virtual Labs been up to in the last nine months? You deserve an explanation.

We have been building. Building late into the night. Building fast. Building securely. And building something new.

Our primary focus has been on the upgrade of Virtual Rollup 2.0 (VR2)—a network of zero knowledge state channels with arbitrary peers. This means that a user can deposit into one smart contract and transact peer-to-peer with any other connected user. Whereas VR1 could support simple games, VR2 can power complex financial applications, bringing a seamless experience to new and larger audiences.

That’s why, in addition to VR2, Virtual Labs is also announcing the creation of a world-class consumer application: VDEX. VDEX is a perpetual exchange platform where traders can buy and sell assets with leverage. It is powered by VR2, giving users the ability to execute trades with ZeroGas fees and with sub-millisecond finality. It is quite literally the fastest decentralized exchange ever built.

VDEX Beta launched on April 3rd, 2025, to a select invite-only group. In April alone, the exchange experienced over $10 million in cumulative volume. This was a reaction beyond our grandest expectations. The people have spoken loud and clear: they want more VDEX!

They have also told us how we can accelerate VDEX even further. Now, we only offer BTC perps, and only at 5x leverage. The interface is simple and sometimes buggy. VDEX isn’t perfect. In fact, it is the worst it will ever be. We will add more leverage, more assets, and supported chains.

VDEX is omnichain, fast, and supports sustainable Bitcoin yield. VDEX is available in all countries without KYC or VPN. VDEX is liquid with over 2 million dollars in bids and asks.

VDEX is the result of nearly a year of our blood, sweat, and tears.
